When will this project begin?
Construction work could begin as soon as July 25, 2018.

When will this project be finished?
Completion date for this project is November 30, 2020. It is anticipated that the completion date for this project will be extended to the summer of 2020 due to utility relocation delays.

Why has the completion of this project been delayed?
This project has been delayed a total of 210 days by Nicor Gas due to the relocation of Nicor facilities that conflicted with the new roadway. The approximate completion date for this project is November 1, 2020. It should be noted that the Nicor conflicts were not identified by Nicor during the design coordination with Nicor and the designer of the IL 31/Huntley project.  The Nicor facilities that created the delay were identified by the construction contractor after the construction of the project had begun.

Will accesses be maintained to businesses?
Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. There may be periods during construction where entrances will be reduced to one lane, however, work will not occur without prior notification from HR Green at to the time and impact of the work.

Will there be any road closures or detour?

There will not be any road closures, however, there will be a one lane detour of East Main Street between IL Route 31 and Lincoln Avenue. During construction eastbound traffic will still be allowed to travel eastbound on East Main Street, east of IL Route 31. Westbound traffic will be detoured from East Main Street between Lincoln Avenue and IL Route 31. Click here to see the project detour route.
